Award
Back in Harriet Tubman’s time, blacks weren’t awarded for what they did. Most blacks weren’t even free. But if awards were given, Harriet tubman would receive the award of never losing a slave on the journey to freedom. Often slaves would want to give up, and try to turn around. When this happened, Harriet threatened them with a small pistol that she carried at her side. Even though the pistol was never used on them, it pushed them to keep going, which brought them all to freedom safely.
